National Do Something Nice Day

I love National Days! Some are damn right weird, such as National Fluffernutter Day; Sunday 8th October -Sandwiches made with peanut butter and marshmallow fluff. Some are really inspiring and great fun to take part in. Today is National Do Something Nice Day.

National Do Something Nice Day

Originally I noticed this day at my daughters school. Today they celebrated by any children having a school dinner was entered into a draw to win 5 sets of cinema tickets.

Really we shouldn’t just do something nice for a day, this should be a normal occurrence.  National Days highlight subjects and activities that we sometimes take for granted and makes us take note of these moments. I try and do nice things often, but I have took advantage of National Do Something Nice Day and spreading the love of Happy Snail Mail.

I have picked 12 of my favourite people and fellow bloggers, totally awesome humans who I enjoy following. My life is hectic and I don’t always get time to  communicate as much as I wish, but this bunch I always try and read their blogs, make sure I catch their latest shot on Instagram. I may sound like a social stalker, but not at all I just simply enjoy keeping up with their latest posts and chatting when I can.

Today I took the time out to go and grab some little bits to send, I have included a personalised letter in each and some little gifts. I won’t put what I got on this post as I don’t want to ruin the surprise, and they are only little things but hopefully everyone will like receiving some happy snail mail.

Everyone try and make sure you do something nice today, even better do this everyday. Even if it is sending a letter to a friend, making a cup of tea for someone or tweeting a ‘Fist Bump’ GiF. Even the little things will mean the world to someone else, to know you have thought of them. That is what I am trying to do by sending a little token to my faves. I am going to try and make more time for sending even a postcard or letter to people.

Have you done something nice recently? Or do you try and take part in National Days? #NationalDoSomethingNice Day

What a lovely, thoughtful, kind thing to do, I’m sure the recipients of your little parcels will love receiving them in the post, little things do mean a lot, even as you say, it’s a fist bump gif. Life can be really hectic but I know your favourite people understand and know that you enjoy reading their posts. I hope someone was kind to you and made you your favourite hot drink today!

Awww that’s super sweet of you, we definitely need to put more kindness out into the world so it’s nice that there’s a day to celebrate it as people can get so wrapped up in the world they even forget to be kind to themselves. I appreciate all acts of kindness be it big or small it all means the world to me and I always try to put as much positive out there as I can, I hope you had a great day xoxo

This was the loveliest thing to do, it was such a nice surprise receiving it in the mail. I love the idea of random kindness and “paying it forward”

I love national days too! There’s some really strange ones out there, but it’s awesome to celebrate these things!! 🙂 How lovely of you to send some gifts to others! You are so lovely and kind 🙂 Like when you surprised me with the adorable knitted ricecake charm! I absolutely love it ^.^ So much that I’m worried to put it on my bag in case I ruin it! I’m definitely going to do something special for this day next year, but you’re right, it should be something we do as often as we can! I love celebrating different National Days. Great post x
