Being nearly mid 30, I now have a new friend in the 30’s club…..Happy 30th Anniversary to the Disney Store
I have always loved Disney from early on as a child. Back in those days, I had an impressive Disney VHS collection. Especially having my own children to share the magic of Disney with, I still love the Disney films and merchandise to this very day. We are hoping in the next couple of years to have our first trip to Disneyland. I am part of a Disney Bloggers chat and love seeing and hearing the tales of their visits. Sharing this with Josie and Rowan will be amazing and memorable.
We love getting together as a family watching a Disney film, having a Disney sing-a-long or playing with their character toys. Josie loves most of the Disney films as she really is a film buff. We had the obligatory loop of Frozen playing along with nearly every other child, which has died down. Josie also loves Beauty and The Beast, the new Cinderella and Moana. Rowan is getting into Disney and loves Toy Story, Frozen and Jungle book. Our car is even called Moana, as she is blue and Moana loves the sea.
Picking a favourite Disney film is hard as there is so many classics, but my main has to be Beauty and The Beast. The new version is amazing if you haven’t seen it yet. I am planning screening number 5 of the new film. I really love how the film reverts back to the original. Even better the Disney Store has now come back to Cribbs Causeway in Bristol, I love the Animator collection. Josie already has a birthday list ongoing for the new collection, especially the Belle dress. After Beauty and The Beast, other favourites are The Little Mermaid, Tangled and more recently Moana.
To celebrate the magical event of the Disney Store’s 30th Anniversary, you may have seen my ecstatic posts that I was indeed given this fabulous opportunity to be part of this extravaganza. I was asked to recreate a scene from one of our favourite Disney films, and the Disney Store would kindly send props. We was over the moon when we received Flounder and Sebastian cuddly toys from The Little Mermaid. I have always loved the quality of the Disney Store items.
Josie absolutely loves helping with blog posts, but this by far was her most favourite. She loved dressing up as the popular mermaid Ariel, complete with flowing red locks. I ordered an Ariel dress so we could try to create some photos using the fantastic characters from the film. I loved this task, as one of my earliest memories was seeing The Little Mermaid at the cinema. Doing these photos was great to spend time with Josie and be creative with our photo shoot at one of our local beauty spots. I must admit I have been racking my brain how we would portray the film, as Under The Sea is one of our favourite scenes. Obviously this was not possible to shoot photos under the sea. So thought the next best way was to show the friendship of Ariel with Flounder and Sebastian. They have a lovely bond in the film, and we tried to show this in our photos too. This was helped as Josie loves the toys. Josie-Ann came up with the idea of a fork, like Ariel uses in the film.
This was one of my favourite blog posts to bring to life, thank you Disney Store. I am going to do a similar shoot soon with Rowan. The pictures look fantastic and this was seriously great fun. I would recommend yourselves having a go at recreating part of a Disney film. If you do join in with the celebrations then make sure you add the hashtag #DisneyStore30
I would love to see any Disney inspired photos you have created. What is your favourite Disney film?
